Girl at the Rock Shows

The past twenty-four hours have been a bit of a whirlwind. From a super busy day at work to getting my original Instagram back after being hacked, it has just been a bit insane and I feel like, although I’m beyond excited to have that original account back, I am not super far behind on work because of what that meant for me. Again, a good problem to have but I now I need to buckle down and get caught up on work. Before I do so, let’s check out some new music starting with “Epilogue” from Cat Ridgeway.

It was the energy of this track that really caught me. The whole dang song is a perfect crescendo and, when added with the stomp and holler-inspired punk vibe, you are left with a captivating track. “Epilogue” is a single off of Cat Ridgeway’s upcoming 2025 release and it definitely has me excited to hear what else Cat is up to on this upcoming album. There’s energy and angst but also an undeniable sense of catchiness behind this track. There’s not really a hook in the typical sense of the world but, instead, this entire track acts as a hook. Self-described “indie rock for overthinkers” Cat’s music is full of fire and power and even a banjo. That’s right, this song has it all and it’s exactly what you need if you’re in the same situation that I’m in and need an extra little boost on this Tuesday morning.
