Girl at the Rock Shows

I feel like I’ve been sharing some fairly soft music with you today and that it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared a more intense track so let’s change that and get a bit heavy with the day, shall we?

AKU is a hardcore punk band from Brighton in the UK. Their new track “I Know About You” is intense, abrasive and next to perfect. The only reason I don’t say that this is perfect because it’s so dang short. At only one minute and about forty seconds long, this song is quick but AKU fills every second of this track with such a blistering and insane sense of power. I get that some people may only be able to take about two minutes of such an extreme song but, for me, this was speaking to me soul and as the song abruptly ended, I was left wanting so much more. From the furious guitar playing to the aggressive drums and shouted vocals, everything about this song is about how much energy can we put into each beat and I love how AKU does that while still giving you a well thought-out track. “I Know About You” is the focus track from this group’s new EP so, if you like this, you should probably drop everything and listen to the EP as a whole. I know that that’s what I’m going to be doing.
