There’s been some drama at my day job this morning which has led to some entertainment but, now that it’s done and I’m back to the reality of it being another work day where my to-do list is much longer than minutes in the day. That’s okay though because there will be some bright spots in my day in the form of new music and it’s starting with a super bright spot– “Little Red Dot” from Moving Boxes.
Some songs hit you and they just make you want to bounce around a bit. This is an example of one of those song. This twinkly emo band has a sound that pairs a sense of slight chaos with perfect tenderness and I feel like both of those sides are highlighted in this three minute song. The relatable lyrics of this song are the first thing that really caught me but, as I was trying to follow around the dancing words, Moving Boxes hit me with a truly epic breakdown about half way through the song. Okay, maybe the breakdown isn’t “epic” in the standard sense of the word but I love how the bass line that creates this little “breakdown” really stands out and adds a sense of composition to this track that I wasn’t quite expecting. Overall, “Little Red Dot” is the kind of song that will both make you feel something deep in your soul and make you want to dance meaning it’s the perfect song for an early and chilly Wednesday morning.
