This week has been going super well so it’s only fate that I am feeling a bit stressed and manic today. Oh the joys of mental health and the ups and downs that come with it. Even though I’m feeling the pressure, I’m not going to let it get to me and, instead, plan on getting lost in some new music today starting with “Crashing Down” from Alex Plummer.
I love the energy that Alex Plummer has put into this song. Although the subject matter of this song being about giving your entire heart to someone just to have them shatter it doesn’t quite speak to my current mindframe, the energy and fire that comes through in every second of this nearly three minute long song absolutely hit me. It’s a pop-punk song at it’s core but, really, there are elements throughout this track that give it a bit more of an edge than that. There’s grit and swagger behind it and although it has that classic pop-punk polish on top, there’s no denying the raw power of Alex. This seems to be a new vibe for Alex as he is a solo act that, in the past, has played a lot of acoustic tunes but I love this leap and I can’t wait to see how it manifests with the release of his new album ‘Lax Floral Record’ which should be out soon!
