Although today hasn’t been super great (where in the heck is time going), it hasn’t been particularly bad. It’s just one of those days where I’ve come to term with the fact that it’s going to be a but turbulent but I will make it to the end of the ride and tomorrow promises to be a bit better. Having this kind of a mentality is a new thing for me. I used to get stuck in ruts and lost in depressive states but have found that listening to music about struggles like this has changed everything so now seems like a perfect time to check out “Get Better” from WILDVIEW.

Hailing from the same arctic tundra that I live in (only a bit more north), this Minnesota-based band has a sound that definitely leans a bit more into the commercialized hard rock side of things than I typically go for but there’s something absouletly incredible about the emotion that comes through in this song. The lyrics circle around the timeless tale of hitting rock bottom after giving into some of your darkest demons and having to take a second to reflect on the journey that got you there while also digging for the strength to carry on and get back up. It’s all a little cliche, I’ll admit, and, again, a bit more commercial feeling than I tend to go for but I really appreciate WILDVIEW being so vulnerable and raw with this song. It was more than enough to give me the strength to get through today regardless of what comes my way.
