Girl at the Rock Shows

Today is not one of those days where I find myself internally screaming “MAKEITSTOP” but it’s a feeling I can relate to. You know those days where you just can’t get caught up on anything. The second you get your inbox under control, it blows up again and, while you’re putting one fire out, another one starts. Thankfully, today is not that day but I have a feeling that MAKEITSTOP’s new song “Brazen Bull” will be a perfect song to keep in my back pocket for those kinds of days.

“Brazen Bull” is the first single from MAKEITSTOP’s upcoming album and, within just a few seconds of this twinkly post-hardcore anthem, I couldn’t help but long for the album in it’s entirety. This technical single has so many intricacies packed into the four minutes and eighteen seconds that it lasts that it’s impossible to just listen to this track once and move on. “Brazen Bull” is the kind of song that you want to listen to over and over again because, each time you listen to it, you pick up on something new. Whether it’s the angsty lyrics, the twinkly guitars, the intense drums– something in this song will stand out to you differently every time you repeat it making it a gem of a song. I love the ups and downs scattered throughout the song. Moments of bliss are quickly followed up by seconds of rage that are then soothed over by silky smooth Minus the Bear styled minutes. It’s a gorgeous balance that MAKEITSTOP does so effortlessly. Long story short, check this song out but set some time aside so you have plenty of time to listen to it again, and again, and again, and again and…
