I didn’t go to a show last night. Honestly, I just wanted a night off, but as soon as the time hit when the show I had my eyes on was starting, I started to get on edge. My boyfriend noticed it. He asked what was wrong and, at the time, I couldn’t quite vocalize what it was that had me feeling antsy. Looking back on last night, I realize that it was the “Voice Inside” my head telling me I should have just gone to the show. Don’t get me wrong, I had a lovely night going to the grocery store for the first time in weeks, grabbing dinner out with the boyfriend, and grabbing a couple of rounds with the boyfriend and best friend after it was all said and done but I probably should have just gone to the show. This has nothing to do with The Tumblers’ new song “Voice Inside” other than the name of the track, but don’t let my irrelevant intro stop you from checking out this amazing song.
The Tumblers are, first and foremost, an indie folk-rock band, but they will not be restrained to just that box. This song is as dynamic as it is powerful. From the smooth and slow, almost lullaby feeling intro to the way that, after about two minutes, you feel the strength of this NYC-based band, this song will grab you. It pulls at your heartstrings while also giving you a breath of fresh air that acts like a swift kick in the butt in a way. Whether you need a moment to decompress or need something to help get you ready to conquer the day, “Voice Inside” has it and it’s served with an undeniable sense of fiery passion and love. Sure, The Tumblers are a folk-rock band but they have so much more to offer than just that and checking out this one song from the group will surely leaving you wanting so much more.
