Can everything just stop for a minute? It’s one of those days where, although I’m being positive and keeping my head up, I’m drowning in work and know that the second I get home, I’m going to have a massive breakdown. I wish everyone would just leave me alone for even just one minute. I wish my phone would stop going off, wish my emails would just pause so I could get caught up– okay, I’m being a brat. I’m busy and busy is good but I need a break so, screw everything I have going on right now, I’m checking out a new track from a personal favorite of mine- Borderlines.

“Okay, Socrates” is a new single from Borderlines’ upcoming EP ‘Repair Kit’ (due out on February 14th on Mom’s Basement Records). Although the overall theme of this song is dark, Borderlines’ signature brand of pop-punk makes this a positive and upbeat feeling track, which fits my current mood so perfectly. “Okay, Socrates” absolutely has an infectious jangle about it. It’s not the most intense or fast beat that you will hear today, but it’s the kind of perfectly timed beat that instantly gets stuck in your head. Add the ripping guitar solo that happens about two minutes in and those classic pop-punk vocals that Borderlines does so well and you are left with a true gem of a track.
