I hope you all had a great weekend. I know I did, but, per usual, it was way too short, and I am struggling to get caught up this Monday morning. Normally, this would get to me, but, honestly, I’m stoked for an event I’m going to tonight, and, quite frankly, I’m just too exhausted to really let the stress get to me right now. I like this energy because, although I probably shouldn’t take a break from draining my inboxes to check out a new track, all I want to do is hear a new song and, well, YOLO, as the kids would say, let’s take a break and check out “Sorry Not Sorry” from Nothing’s Working.

“Sorry Not Sorry” is an angsty song about love lost. There is no apology in this song and I love that because most songs are about what can be learned from a failed relationship. Although that is still true with this song from pop-punkers Nothing’s Working, the moral of this song is about not apologizing for when things don’t go right. Sure, you can be bummed about it but, at the end of the day, if you didn’t do anything wrong, there’s nothing to be sorry. As a Minnesotan, this is a hard concept to grasp but hearing it against the pop-punk-perfection that is this beat definitely helps. “Sorry Not Sorry” definitely has a MGK meets Blink 182 vibe so, if you don’t like the new-school pop-punk approach, I’m not sure that this will be for you but if you’re looking for just a super infectiously angsty bop, you should turn the volume up and blare this jam!
