I love the energy that the band name Watch Me Rise brings to my soul. It’s the vibe I need today as I try to get a handle on my to-do list, which is never-ending at this point. I honestly didn’t even have to listen to “MARAD” to know that this is the band I need to listen to right now but, as soon as I hit play on this amazing and powerful track, I knew that this song is all I needed to help me get through what is sure to be an insane Thursday.
“MARAD” is the second single from Watch Me Rise’s debut album ‘A Decade Full of Setbacks and Mistakes’. This emotional hardcore four-piece band from Frankfurt has a sense of depth in their music that can be felt within the first few seconds of this song. Although there’s definitely power here and a sense of angst that comes through loud and clear in the shouted vocals, there’s a soft tenderness around the edges of it all that brings a sense of comfort to the song. A perfectly curated blend of emo, post-hardcore and a more classic hardcore punk rock sound is just the icing on the cake to this fantastic and formidable song.
