I’m honestly having a great morning, and although, according to my smart watch, I only got about three hours of sleep, I’m feeling ready to take on the world. I think part of that is due to my heavier-than-usual playlist. I don’t know why but heavy music is just hitting so perfectly right now and “IGNITED” from CORBIAN is hitting more perfect than others.
Released just about a month ago, “IGNITED” is one of those kick-ass kind of metal songs. It’s perfect for one of your more angsty days or a day at the gym when you’re ready to just blow off a bunch of steam. It’s intense and has vocals in the style of Lorna Shore but instrumentation that feels a bit more in line with something like Spiritbox. This blend makes CORBIAN’s sound both familiar in ways and completely unique in others. On top of it all, this band has a perfect balance between the intensity and more tender parts of this song that seemingly pop out of nowhere and act as a little comfort before the band plunges you back into their distinct brand of brutality. Looking for heavy? It doesn’t get much heavier (or more perfect) than “IGNITED” from Corbian.
