Girl at the Rock Shows

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope you week is off to a good start! Mine is but I’m quickly running out of time to get everything done that I want to this week. It has me feeling a bit manic and a bit discouraged but I’m trying my best to not let it get the best of me so I need the perfect song to get me in the right mood for today. Here’s to hoping that “Good Riddance” from Daysick is that song.

Right off the bat, “Good Riddance” reminded me of Billy Talent but with a bit more of a My Chemical Romance flare for the dramatic. It instantly caught me and instantly had me in love with this band. The guitar tone in this track is severe and really catches your ears while the vocals seem to smooth it all over in a way. Add in an infectious but not too commercial overall vibe and you are left with the masterpiece that is “Good Riddance.” I love that this song comes off as slightly aggressive and gives you an opportunity to scream it out, but it also could act as just one of those super good kinds of songs that fill you with an undeniable sense of energy and light a fire under your butt in a way. There’s something super bold and super innovative about this trio from Nova Scotia, Canada so I do not apologize for the obsession that listening to “Good Riddance” will surely cause.
