Girl at the Rock Shows

Crossing i’s Dotting t’s and I go way back. I honestly don’t remember how I connected with this band but I’m sure glad it happened. Every time their name comes across my desk, I get excited and I was super pumped when they sent their new single “You, in everything” my way.

“You, in everything” is one of those songs that keeps you on your toes. Throughout the first portion of this nearly four-minute long track, you think it’s easy to classify Crossing i’s Dotting t’s as just another indie rock band that leans into everything from emo to alt-rock but, after about three minutes, everything changes. The amount of movement and creativity that this band can pack into one singular song is definitely of their many trademarks. Another one of their signatures moves is the amount of emotion they can put into that movement and creativity without it becoming overwhelming. It’s as if this band knows exactly how much emotional heaviness you can take, and, just when you’re on the ledge, they come in and soothe it all over with a distinctive sense of power and energy. “You, in everything” is definitely a perfect showing of why this band deserves your attention and also acts as a great introduction to this group without giving away all of their tricks and signatures all at once.
