There’s a battle happening outside my window between the sun and rain clouds, so it seems only fitting to take some time right now and share with you “Rain or Shine” from The Spins.
“Rain or Shine” is the secomd single off of The Spins’ new album and it will absolutely catch you and leave you wanting so much more from this band. The biggest thing that caught me about this track was the depth. I’m not just talking about the lush layers of sounds that make The Spins’ sound feel larger than life, but I’m also talking about the word choice and the way all of it comes together to create such an uplifting yet also heartfelt track that can either make your heart flutter or make your eyes swell up with tears. Honestly, the lyrical content, as beautiful as it is, is a story as old as time. “Rain or Shine” is a song about wondering if a partner will stand by your side regardless of “Rain or Shine.” I love that The Spins were able to take such a classic topic and put a spin on it (and, yes, that terrible pun was intentional).
