Do you ever feel like you’re living in the Wrong Generation? I feel like I have that thought more and more every day as I get more and more annoyed by things like cellphones and having to be connected 24/7. I don’t think I would say I was born in the Wrong Generation but I will say that I feel like I long for a simpler time. This all has nothing to do with “Goodbye Riverlane” from Wrong Generation, other than the band name but it’s something to think about on this gloomy Tuesday, right?

“Goodbye Riverlane” is a classic pop-punk song. It tells a tale as old as time– growing up in a small town with dreams of getting out and making it big. Although this is a storyline played out in nearly all pop-punk anthems, there’s something special about this one from Wrong Generation. It’s raw and angst,y but it’s beautiful and smooth at the same time. Instead of being full of frustration, this song seems to be full of comfort. It’s a song about moving on and looking forward because looking back will do nothing for you. The members of this Austrian punk band are ridiculously young, but there’s something almost “old soul” about the message here. Looking for a new pop-punk anthem? Just need a song to comfort and soothe your soul for a couple of minutes? “Goodbye Riverlane” from Wrong Generation is the song for you.
