I wanted to be mad that I had to work today. Technically, it’s a holiday, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, but my company doesn’t recognize it. I was cursing under my breath as my exhausted butt drove into work, but now that I’ve been here for half a day, I realize that it’s kind of been nice because I’ve been able to catch up a bit after my insane weekend at the Snow and Flurry festival. I’ve been busy but busy on my own stuff, not my day job stuff, which means I haven’t had a lot of time to share out singles, but I’m ready for a little break, and that means it’s time to dive into another new song.
“Season Of Change” is full of energy, but it’s not super aggressive. You feel triumphant as soon as you hit play, and it builds into a shouted anthem of sorts. Although I wouldn’t call it aggressive, the vocals have a clear grit that I found as addicting as it was energizing. The overall track has a standard skate-punk vibe, leaning a bit harder, but that could just be because of that grit. You don’t need to know the lyrics to relate to this song. The heart that radiates through each word is enough to know that We Told You So does everything with their heart on their sleeve, making it one of those perfect songs for days when you need a little extra burst of motivation.
