I wouldn’t consider myself to be very standoffish, but I’m sure there are some people out there who think that’s exactly what I am. Honestly, sometimes I just get so sick of, well, people. I deal with them all day at my day job and then, although I love shows, I find myself surrounded by people at night. Standoffish? Absolutely not. Kind of just over people in general, sometimes. So this is my apology to anyone who thinks I come off as standoffish. I promise I try not to be! This also has nothing to do with “Tireless” from Standoffish, which is absolutely hitting the spot right now.

Right off the bat, Standoffish hits you with a wall of sound before falling back into a brief but dramatic rise to the dynamic track that is “Tireless.” This song is a bit about life in general. It’s about how none of us really know what we are doing, and we may get stuck dwelling on the past. The first single from their new EP, ‘Insignificant Thing,’ this Queens, New York-based band pays homage to bands from the past like Saves the Day and Strike Anywhere with this song, but also brings their own flavor to the mix. It’s a 90s-feeling song with a 10s sort of grit and angst behind it, making it the perfect song for someone who loves to travel down nostalgia lane but is ready for something fresh.
