It’s Thursday but I think we can all agree when I say I wish it was Friday. It’s just been a week and, no matter how much I get done, it’s just not enough. I was going strong up until now but I am started to get that familiar defeated feeling. I’m determined to not let it get the best of me so let’s dig into some new music as a sort of distraction starting with “From The Cities” from Hendricks the Hatmaker.

This song is catchy, powerful, and important. Basically, it’s everything you could ever want from a song. A perfect blend of skate punk, pop-punk, garage-rock, and everything in between, this track has a sense of angst but also a feeling of depth and tenderness when it comes to the lyrics. This song was created following the participation in a Black Lives Matter demonstration by one of the members of this band. That member took all of those feelings felt and all of the emotions that were bottling up and put them into this song creating the masterpiece in just about three hours. That’s really not long when it comes to a track but this is honestly so perfect that maybe speed-creating tracks is Hendricks the Hatmaker’s niche.

So start your day off right with a sense of power and catchiness but also with the throught-provoking sound that is “From The Cities” from Hendricks the Hatmaker.
