Girl at the Rock Shows

I struggled to get out of bed this morning. It wasn’t even that I was super tired– I was my normal perpetually tired self– it was more that I was just so comfy and didn’t want to get out of bed. I finally got up and got moving but now I feel like I’m dragging ever so slightly so I figured now would be a perfect time to dig into “Wake Up” from Combo Move.

Combo Move is a brand spankin’ new band from Portland, OR and I already have high hops from them. There’s a sense of nostalgia in this song but also something fresh about the vibe that you get. “Wake Up” starts off on a heavy note that truly does beg you to “Wake Up” before falling into a highly emotionally charged track full of life, spirit, and angst. It has a beat that makes you want to get up and dance but lyrics that make you get a bit lost in your own thoughts. It’s the perfect blend of a little bit of everything I love making it a song that I instantly put on repeat for a hot minute.

“Wake Up” will be part of Combo Move’s debut EP which is set to come out this summer so make sure to throw this band a follow so you don’t miss that!
