I promise that I didn’t die– I disappeared down to Dallas, TX over the weekend to experience the So What?! Music Festival. Let’s just say the festival and Texas in general was an experience. I’m still on the fence whether I want to write a review of my time spent down in the steamy south but, while I think on that, how about we check out some music that I meant to share out while down there but didn’t due to how busy and straight-up exhausted I was the entire weekend starting with “cuts in my mouth” from Sicada.

“cuts in my mouth” is somehow both explosive and somber at the same time. I’m honestly not sure how Sicada pulled it off but I am absolutely here for it. The track starts off with a fairly simple sounding guitar part before emotional vocals come in and take over with a sense of aggression and angst with the help of pounding drums. Full disclosure, I felt like the recording quality of this track is a bit raw but I kind of like how it gives this song a very emotional vibe and the grit that comes with it. This is one of those songs that I thought I would have so much to say about it but, when push came to shove, it was just one of those songs that I sat back and just enjoyed the artistry and passion that comes with it. So I urge you to do the same. Hit play on “cuts in my mouth” from Sicada, sit back, and enjoy!
