Girl at the Rock Shows

I am absolutely struggling to keep up with work today. I blame it on being out of town all weekend and needing yesterday to recover from the trip but, realistically, I’m just one of those people who has to be insanely busy to be happy yet complains about being insanely busy. It makes no sense, I recognize that. What does make sense is “Until I’m Dust” from Something’s Cursed.

“Until I’m Dust” is the title track off of Something’s Cursed new EP and tells the story of someone in the deep darkness that is depression. Honestly, just listening to this song tells you what it’s about. The song starts off with a little creepy eeriness which quickly turns to an explosion of angst and power with a 90’s punk vibe that edges into the grunge world throughout the whole thing. You can literally feel this sort of inner battle that is told in the story with the way the band has laid out this track which is absolutely brilliant. Although I wouldn’t call this an overly dark song, I like how there is a stark moodiness attached throughout this song but also movement within that moodiness. There are catchy parts, moments of dissonance, and other moments with a catchy power-chord pattern that will surely get stuck in your head instantly. So check out “Until I’m Dust” and show Something’s Cursed some love!
