Girl at the Rock Shows

When I saw 5ever’s name come across my desk, I couldn’t help but think of that old school MTV band 2Gether and their song that had a line about maybe changing their name to “5ever”. Much like the last single I shared with you, this little tidbit has nothing to do with 5ever’s song “Aliso Creek Bonfire Circa 2010” but is just what came to mind when I saw this single. Regardless, this song is more than worth your attention and here’s why:

The band explained in the pitch to me that this song is supposed to have multiple meanings and that’s something that really stood out to me throughout this quick two minute and six second song. I won’t get into that as I want you to interpret this song in whatever way it hits you but, overall, this song is a complete jam. Talk about pop-punk perfection– I love the way the vocals soar with a sense of power over the already powerful instrumentation of this track. There’s a very nostalgic aspect to this track that reminds me of bands like State Champs and Handguns but there’s also something fresh feeling about the energy that comes with the song. Unfortunately, it’s super short but don’t be afraid to listen to it again, and again, and again… okay, you get it. This song will hook you and make you want so much more from 5ever so set some time aside to check out the other material these guys have out there!
