I truly hope you are having a good Wednesday today! My day has absolutely been a rollercoaster and right now I am just looking for that high that you get when you’re at the top of a coaster and feel like you can conquer the world and, by George, I think I found it in “Call My Home (Canada Song)” from The Goodbye Summer.
This is my pop-punk perfection pick of the day. It’s full of heart and deep emotion that echoes through the track perfectly but it also has that infectious energy and boppiness that you have come to expect from one of my “pop-punk perfection picks”. I know that this song is mostly about Canada but I feel like the words can relate to much more than just Canada. “There’s no place I’d rather call my home.” I mean, tell me you can’t relate that to any human, pet, room in your offer, space in your world– whatever. I love the way that line is repeated while the guitars and drums continue on and gang vocals chant behind it all. It’s a simple chorus but impactful and definitely had me hooked upon my first listen.
