“Unwritten” is only the second song from The Transcendents but you honestly wouldn’t know that listening to this track. There’s something so flawless, so perfect about it that I honestly would have put money on the fact that this band has been around for decades.

Beyond the flawless sound of this song is the perfect vibe. “Unwritten” definitely feels a bit nostalgic with an early 2000s emo vibe coming through loud and clear throughout the three minute song but it doesn’t feel old or re-done. The Transcendents have somehow took a super familiar sound and put a twist on it to make it feel completely fresh and new. The vocals, although definitely emo-soaked, have an almost 90s vibe to them that I, personally, really liked. Icing on the cake? The lyrics. Like all good emo songs, “Unwritten” has heart-on-your-sleeve styled lyrics that come through just as loud and clear as those emo vibes.
