Even on my good days, like today, I’m just one step away from falling into a hard struggle with anxiety and depression. Honestly, it’s just part of my life and, although it’s not pretty, I feel like these struggles have helped make me the person I am today. It doesn’t always look like it but there is always a way out of those ruts we can all fall into and that’s exactly what this strong song from Free Friends featuring Josh from Magnolia Park is all about.

“The Ledge” is one of those all-too-relatable songs. It talks about those daily struggles that many of us deal with and how, every day, we are just one step away from that ledge. This song takes a positive spin on that though and, matched with an infectious pop-punk perfection, talks about how it’s not a bad thing to ask for support. It also reminds us that we are not alone. A tale as old as time, I love this reminder that life isn’t perfect for any of us but that doesn’t mean to jump off “The Ledge”. There’s a sense of triumphant energy in the layers of this already poignant song that just help remind you to step back and take back your life from the mental health struggles that may plague you. Easier said than done, I know but I love how this track reminded me to keep my head up even if today takes a turn.
