Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m trying my hardest to keep my head up and not get lost in the insanity that is my inbox right now but it’s getting hard. It’s just one of those days where I can’t keep up but, at the same time, don’t want to get lost to the stress. This means I need a break and I’m assuming that you could probably use one too so let’s take a breather and check out “Into My Head” from The Marigolds.

“Into My Head” is an anthemic punk song with a perfect balance of power, chaos, and infectious poppy choruses. Really, this song is all over the place which seems to be a signature move of The Marigolds. Although I would classify them as a punk band, I feel like there were elements in this song that were just so perfectly anti-punk. Add the positive lyrics that juxtaposes the intense instrumentation and you are left with a song that will both confuse and thrill you at the same time. The best part of this song? Whether you pick up on the aggression or the beauty of it, “Into My Head” will, in fact, get you out of your head and give you a place for lingering emotions that may be clouding your head. The Marigolds are a super solid band and I truly can not wait to hear more from them after listening to “Into My Head”.
