Although I’m getting a crap ton done today and am finally feeling like I’m back in the grind of things after my mental health took a dive last week, it’s one of those days where I’m left wondering where the time has gone. It’s already nearly 10:30 in the morning and I still have so much to do. It’s easy for me to get in my head on days like this and just give up and call the day a wash blaming too much work and too little time but I really need to stop doing that so I need a powerful song to help blast me back into work mode and “Wishy Washy” from Death Cult Electric is doing the trick.

“Wishy Washy” is the first single from Death Cult Electric’s debut album that will be out later this year and it will definitely hook you instantly. This song has a cool alt-rock vibe to it but it comes with a bit of a heavier edge that I wasn’t quite expecting but instantly wanted more of. Think Queens of the Stone Age meets IDLES with a little The Hives retro-vibe mirrored by the attitude of Viagra Boys and juxtaposing vocals like The Blood Brothers and you can kind of get close to what Death Cult Electric is doing but, as you can tell, that description is all of the place so you should just listen to this for yourself. Personally, I love the controlled chaos of this song. It really fit the subtle frustration I’m feeling right now along with giving me that swift kick in the ass to keep going. It’s catchy but it’s violent. It’s fuzzy but crisp. Long story short, “Wishy Washy” is the schizophrenic single you need to hear right now.
