Because of my kitten being at the vet right now, I jump every time my phone buzzes. Like I mentioned, I know everything is going to be fine but anxiety is a bitch to say the least and I’m on edge. It doesn’t help that a group chat regarding Riot Fest this weekend is blowing up. I’m overwhelmed, overstimulated, and about near my breaking point of interactions for the day. I need to level out a bit which means it’s time to check out another new track.

“Mubblegum” is the newest single from Moving Boxes- a southeast emo band with an undeniable sense of self. I mean it– this song sounds unlike anything else I’ve been hearing lately. At the same time, it’s approachable and relatable. The words come drenched with a sense of emotion but also with a top-40 worthy feeling of perfection behind them. The instrumentation has a cool tone with it where the bass seems to be emphasized throughout this three minute track while making sure you hear all of the grit and emotion that comes through with all of the other instrumentation. A battle between two vocals stays at the focus on this song creating this sense of tension that is oh so perfect to get lost in. Just when you think you have Moving Boxes and “Mubblegum” pegged, they hit you with a surprise around the 2:20 mark but you have to listen to this entire song to really feel the weight of this spectacular moment. So what are you waiting for? Check out “Mubblegum” from Moving Boxes now!
