Sometimes a song will just catch me. There may be no rhyme or reason for it but certain songs can stop me dead in my tracks and bring my busy day to a halt. That’s what happened the first time I heard “Demons Don’t Sleep” from Haha Hear Hear.

This song is about that dream we all have where you keep waking up in the dream but are still dead asleep. I know we all have it and it’s a weird feeling but I love how this song has that vibe throughout the song. It’s not tongue in cheek but somehow it conveys that feeling of that dream. Maybe that’s why this song caught me or maybe it’s just Haha Hear Hear’s overall sound. It’s a little retro and a lot of swagger. Half indie, half punk, I love the energy that radiates for the entirety of this nearly four-minute long song but also how it’s not super in your face or aggressive at the same time. Like I said, sometimes a song will just hook me without any real rhyme or reason and that is absolutely the case when it comes to “Demons Don’t Sleep” from Haha Hear Hear. Does it hook you too?
