I’m definitely in a pop-punk kind of mood. There’s something comforting about the nostalgia of it and, on a stressful day such as today, it’s absolutely hitting the spot.
“Let It Burn” is the lead single from Nowhere Fast’s 2nd LP ‘Emotional First Aid Kit’ and it, as the kids say, slaps. Sure, this is pop-punk and definitely gave me some of those nostalgic feelings that I’ve been craving today but there’s something a little extra in this song. There’s a little extra angst, a little extra aggression, and a little extra spite with every phrase that passes in this nearly four minute long song. Add a ridiculously catchy chorus and you are left with pop-punk-perfection. I love how powerful the vocals are but how they don’t distract from the expert instrumentation happening behind them. Really, the balance throughout this song is something that sets Nowhere Fast apart from everyone else in this scene right now and is more than enough of a reason for you to stop what you’re doing to check out this song and, inevitably, the full album.
