Does that band name Dinosaurs In Paris sound familiar? It has been a hot minute but I shared out another single by them (“You Know Who You Aren’t“) a few months back which is when I fell in love with this band. Although they have some current and fresh music out there, they also have some older bangers that refuse to be ignored including “New Spark”. Although this song is two years old, it’s one that can not be ignored and, I’m guessing, will be new to the majority of you.

This song bridges the gap between more radio-friendly rock and more extreme metalcore so perfectly. The rises and falls throughout this three minute song are intense and I love the way that this band is able to treat every portion of this song with the same level of intensity whether it’s a breakdown or one of the more sensitive moments featured throughout this track. Both sides are done so well and with such a sense of care that it’s quite easy to hear not only the talent behind this band, but also the passion and fire. Although there were moments of this song that just felt a bit more tender than I was in the mood for, the intensity of the breakdowns scattered throughout “New Spark” made up for it. Whether you’re in the mood for heavy, in the mood for light, or having one of those days where you can’t make up your mind as to what kind of mood you’re in, “New Spark” from Dinosaurs In Paris will have you hooked.
