Girl at the Rock Shows

It has been just over a year since I was introduced to the pop punk perfection that was “As Lonely As Me” by You Were Never Lovelier. I absolutely loved everything about that song but, sadly, after a couple of months of listening to it daily, it fell of the daily playlists of my life just due to the sheer amount of amazing music out there. Although I may have taken a break from this band, they didn’t take a break for creating perfection and just recently came out with their new song, “Figure It Out By Now”.

In true You Were Never Lovelier fashion, “Figure It Out By Now” is absolute pop-punk- perfection. The strong vocals hit you at the beginning before the slamming guitars and crashing drums come in and take this song off. This song has a very fast and furious pace throughout it yet there’s something oddly calming about the energy that radiates from every word. Although this is absolutely the kind of pop-punk jam that will make you want to dance, it has a sense of depth behind the lyrics that hit me and hit me hard. It’s a song about, well, how you probably thought you would have “Figure[d] It Out By Now”. Relatable lyrics that hit a bit too close to home for me right now mixed with an energetic bop that will get you blood moving, “Figure It Out By Now” from You Were Never Lovelier is just what you need to get through this weird and wacky Tuesday.
