I just warmed up leftover Indian food for my lunch. Although I feel a little bad about how quickly the delicious smell of this meal wafted through the office, I don’t feel bad about how delicious this is. My lunch has nothing to do with “Matty” from Hanorah. It’s just what’s going on right now but you really don’t care, do you? Let’s just jump into yet another new track!

Overall, this song is definitely a bit more chill than I typically go for but it had me hooked instantly. There’s something playful, almost whimsical about the dream-like soundscape that Hanorah lays out in this nearly six-minute song and it seriously added a special spark to my lunchbreak today. It’s truly chill and the kind of song that, when listening to it, your mind and soul just kind of drift off. That being said, even when drifting, there’s no denying the power that comes through in this slightly lo-fi alt pop song. Not only is there a sense of depth in the many layers that make this lush track so, well, lush, there’s also depth to the words. They tell a coming-of-age kind of story and the tale-as-old-as-time-story of feeling like you’re falling slightly behind in life when comparing yourself to your friends and peers. That’s a slippery slope of feelings to go down and one that I travel often so I am so excited that I now have “Matty” from Hanorah in my back pocket to help me down those winding trails.
