I hope you all had a good weekend. I know I sure did! Not only did I get to check out some amazing local shows, I got super exciting news, and even got to spend some quality time with my boyfriend’s kids. All in all, it was a good weekend but now it’s Monday and that means back to the real world. Luckily for me, I have some amazing music to share that will surely help keep my positive energy going like “Ghost” from Lola Liar.
One of my new year’s resolutions was to stop letting people live rent-free in my head so it seems only fitting that that’s what “Ghost” is about. The song follows a ghost around as it tries to haunt someone. There’s a sense of desperation in this song with the way that this “ghost” seems to be trying to be acknowledged which is where the whole idea of a “ghost” living rent-free in your head seems to come from. You can take this song the way I am explaining it now or you can just take it for what it is– a solidly good song. It’s indie rock with a bit of an edge to it. The vocals are powerful but comforting and the instrumentation seems to match that. There’s a twist around the two minute mark that will surely make chills race up your spine before Lola Liar’s signature sound takes back over and races this song to the finish line. Get deep with this song or just get lost in Lola Liar’s world, “Ghost” is a great way to kick off your week.
