Silos – “Save Tonight” – Girl at the Rock Shows

My motivation and concentration are starting to fail me. It’s nothing new. This usually happens at that weird time between lunch and when I leave my day job. Although I am determined to just keep getting things done, I’m being tried by all of the distractions around me so I need to take a breather, check out some new music, and get back to it.

I’ll go ahead and say that I’m a bit bias when it comes to this song from Silos. This is a cover of Eagle-Eye Cherry’s 1997 hit “Save Tonight” and I absolutely love the original. Okay, wait, to call this a cover would be a farce. This is a reinterpretation of the hit song and it hits you hard. Although the tempo of the track has been slowed down for this ode to the iconic track, Silos’ version of it hits hard due to the sheer intensity that they seem to bring to every dragged beat. I’ll never fight anyone who says that the original version of “Save Tonight” is perfect and should not be changed, covered, or re-interpreted but I will say that Silos does it with such a strong sense of personality and originality that it’s hard to hate on this version of the track and it’s so easy to fall in love with Silos after hearing it.
