This week has been going smoothly. It was just a matter of time before a fire started turning the week around to the usual amount of manic panic and stress and it all hit this morning. It’s already been a rough day and will surely only get rougher as time goes on but that’s not going to stop me from taking little breathers here and there to check out some music. Now seems like the perfect time for the first breather of the day.
MNERVA is a band that I have covered singles from before, but I think that “My Friends Don’t Like You” is their best yet. This song is a pop-punk banger for the hopeless romantics, and it’s perfect. The song is bright but the lyrics are slightly dark, giving it that perfect nod to the pop-punk scene of the early 2000s. It’s a catchy number with a simple sounding yet super impactful keyboard part that will get stuck in your head on your first listen. Add the crystal-clear vocals, and you are left with an anthemic bop that will have you wanting so much more from this amazing pop-punk band. “My Friends Don’t Like You” is the first single from MNERVA’s debut album so, have no fear, there’s more coming and more out there from this act and other material out there so go ahead and let yourself go down the rabbithole that is MNERVA in order to get your Thursday started off right.
