Sometimes songs given to me with no background and no real want for a publicity push are the ones that hit me the hardest. That’s the case when it comes to “Words Left Unsaid Are The Most Haunting” from Robert Owens. As Robert put it, “[they] wrote and recorded this song under [their] name, just trying to get it out there for anyone who digs it.” Safe to say, I dig it.

“Words Left Unsaid Are The Most Haunting” is a haunting kind of track. Although the intensity of this track comes through loud and clear, so does the beauty and tenderness of it. This four and a half minute song hits like a ton of bricks. The post-hardcore styled vocals mix with the metalcore styled instrumentation to create an unescapable wall of sound and emotion. The rises and falls of this song, although a bit predictable, are so dramatic just adding to the depth of the track. Although it’s not the most upbeat song you’ll hear today, it’s definitely a song that will hit you hardest and leave you haunted with not only the lyrics, but the overall vibe of the track.
