There’s no keeping up with work today. I hate that feeling but, at the same time, I am really trying to get better at just being realistic and staying calm so, instead of freaking out about the fact that I can’t send emails out as fast as they are coming in, I’m going to take another breather and get lost in another new song.

I don’t know if it’s because of my current mental state or what, but “Don’t Need Much” from The Electric Sons hit me, and it hit me hard. It’s a song about the desire to have it all and how trying to have a bit of control over your life can drive you insane because, at the end of the day, it’s always just slightly out of reach. I love how The Electric Sons have found such a relatable and hard-to-swallow kind of mentality and put it into something so epically sweet yet profound. There’s power here, don’t get me wrong, but that power comes in the form of passion rather than slamming drums and chugging guitars. There’s an ebb and flow to this song that helps you drift away from your problems and stress that may be plaguing your mind. I have so much to say about this song, but truthfully, this is one of those tracks that is better heard, not read about.
