Welp, I just landed in Chicago for Riot Fest weekend. I’m so excited, as I always am, but also thinking, “I Could Use A Miracle” to get through it all. Okay, I’m being dramatic. I know I’ll get through this and with a smile on my face (most of the time), but it’s definitely one of the most grueling weekends of the year for me as I always try to catch as many bands as humanly possible. I’m feeling excited, but also a bit anxious about it all, which is why I was so stoked to take a few minutes before the insanity to check out “I Could Use A Miracle” from Rebecca Aadland.

Unlike me being the dramatic queen I am, there is no drama behind this song. Okay, there is but that drama comes from pure emotion. I don’t personally know Rebecca, but as I listened to (and watched) this track, I felt like I could see her soul and that I had known her for a lifetime, and then some. This song is vulnerable and raw, which makes sense when you hear Rebecca’s story. I won’t get into it all, l but she’s been through some stuff lately. You can feel that subtle darkness throughout this song, but what I really latched onto was the brightness of the song. This song reads like a motivational kind of pep talk that I think we all could use in this day and age, when things constantly feel so doomy and gloomy.

Rebecca will be releasing this song in real life on September 28th at The Icehouse in Minneapolis. If you’re around, I highly suggest checking this show out. Not only will you get a peek into Rebecca’s soul through this song, you will surely fall head over heels for her talent and beauty with every other song that she performs.

Tickets for this show at The Icehouse are still available HERE!
