Happy Thursday, everyone. I’m not sure where the time is going. It honestly feels more like a Tuesday than a Thursday, but here we are, and I’m feeling a little manic as I try to get things done before the end of the week. Although stopping to check out new music may not be my best idea, it’s all that I want to do right now, and I’m hoping that checking out “Needed You More” from Belle Blue will help calm my soul if only ever so slightly.
“Needed You More” is a super beautiful song, but there’s something fierce behind it. Belle Blue’s voice is raw and emotive while being absolutely flawlessly perfect. It reminds me a bit of the great female singer-songwriters of the ’90s, but at the same time, this song feels fresh and modern. “Needed You More” may start off slow and steady, but about a minute in, you get a taste of the fierceness that Belle Blue has. The words start to hit just a little bit harder, much like the instrumentation. Although “Needed You More” never quite makes it to a true banger type status, there’s no denying the power behind this song, and that power mixed with the sheer beauty of Belle Blue creates such a soundscape that is so easy to get lost in and one that my soul definitely needed this morning.
