I have no clue what RQTBL stands for or if it’s even meant to stand for anything. What I do know is that “Joyce,” the new song from RQTBL, is absolutely amazing and definitely deserves your attention today.

This song feels like poetry. I’m not just talking about the heartfelt lyrics that tell the honest story of living with addiction; I’m talking about this song as a whole. There’s intensity behind this track, which portrays the way that we all seem to exist among each other while hiding some of the deepest and darkest secrets. I love the way that the tension builds throughout this three-minute song as if those secrets are trying to escape and the protagonist is trying their best to keep them under wraps. All of this creates a sense of controlled chaos along with a sense of helplessness. What I’m trying to say is this song, as beautiful as it is, is super heavy and, if you’re not careful, it may drag you down into the darkest corners of your mind. That’s not at all a bad thing, more just a forewarning. “Joyce” will be on RQTBL’s upcoming album, and I, for one, can not wait to see what other journeys come with the album.

**EDIT**- RQTBL stands for “Racquetball”– I’ll be honest, didn’t see that coming!
