I love hearing music from other countries and music in other languages. I know that some people will do the research and the translating to figure out what everything means, but for me, I love to see if I can figure out what a song is all about without doing that. It’s not hard to feel what “Unbeaugsam_reimaged” from The Jeals is all about.
The Jeals are a German band that straddles pop punk and post punk. You can easily hear that throughout this nearly four-minute song. There’s an infectious quality to this track that gives it a pop-punk spirit, but there’s also a hard edge that gives the song a post-punk kind of feeling. The intensity of this song can be felt loud and clear, whether or not you understand the words being shouted and sung throughout this song. There’s a sense of desperation throughout the track, but also something a bit more defiant and rebellious. This song feels like a call to action and, although I don’t quite know what “Unbeugsam” means or how it’s being “reimaged,” I know that the power and energy of this track spoke to me in a perfect way.
