I’m not going to say that today has been a “Bad Day” but it’s been a trying one. It’s already lunch time and this is the first moment I’ve had to breathe. The first time today where I can actually have a sip of coffee. My first chance to check out some new music. I’m frustrated by that but am so glad that my first single of today is “Bad Day” from Stuck In Yesterday.

“Bad Day” is pop-punk gold. You can feel and hear that within the first few seconds of this high-octane song. I love the fact that this song has a very nostalgic pop-punk kind of vibe going on with it but how it feels fresh and relatable as a thirty-something just trying to get through life. I also love how this song seemed to keep me on my toes. There are many moments throughout this three and a half minute song where you feel like a breakdown may be coming but Stuck In Yesterday never gets that heavy. Instead, right when you think things are going to explode it something a bit more intense, they lean into a more indie-pop kind of infectious energy. It’s a cool and surprising little twist on a truly flawless song. If you’re like me and just kind of having a day, I urge you to take just a couple of minutes to check out this song. I promise it’ll be worth it and, let’s be honest, those emails can wait just a few minutes.
