I’ll be honest, the show I had last night did very little for me. It confused me, made me feel a bit uncomfortable and, at the end of the day, felt a bit more like a waste of time than a good use of my night. This has me feeling a little manic and restless this morning and I’m not sure what to do with this weird energy so I feel like it’s a good morning to kick off with some new music in hopes that it helps me get my head in the game as far as today goes.
“Foam” is the latest single from Unsafe’s upcoming EP and this song packs an intense punch. Although there are definitely dynamics and a great use of space throughout this two and a half minute long song, it’s mostly a relentless assault on your ears and your heart. That doesn’t sound like the best way to kick off a Thursday morning, I know, but with this pent up and weird energy I have inside of me right now, this was just what I needed. This song is intensely cathartic and I love how, after about a minute and a half of pure intensity, the band backs off and gives you a chance to breathe before plunging you back into catharsis. You can feel a sense of depth and conflicting emotions throughout this track which makes sense as it’s a song that tries to capture both the anger and sadness of coping with the loss of a member’s father. Whether you want to get lost in the depths of “Foam” or just lose yourself in the intensity of this track, Unsafe will steal your heart after just one listen to this song.
