Girl at the Rock Shows

For some reason, heavy music is hitting me particularly well today. Thankfully, I have a lot of heavy music to share out with you including “Circus Sapiens” from NECROTTED.

“Circus Sapiens” is the final single to drop prior to NECROTTED’s new album that is due out in just a couple of days. This song is three and a half minutes of blistering insanity. It’s relentless and intense but, what I love about this song and NECROTTED in general is the crispness of the song. Although there’s a constant assault of drums, guitar, bass and vocals throughout this song, you can hear everything crystal clear. Sure, you may not be able to understand all of the words in this song but you can feel the emotion and fire that comes with each one and that’s all you really need. If you were curious, this song is about how modern society is kind of like a circus. As the band puts it, “The song depicts modern society as a circus in which people themselves become the artists: masked, controlled by others and driven by power, in search for recognition through narcissistic self-expression. Observed by godlike beings, the ‘Circus Sapiens’ exposes a decadent fun society that has become alienated from itself and laughs in the face of its own demise.” I mean, come on, that message and meaning is as flawless as this song, don’t you think?
