Happy Tuesday, everyone. I got nothing for you this morning. It’s just another day of the grind where I’m regretting some choices made the night before but also still riding off the high of a fantastic concert. I’m tired and trying my best to pull together both a sense of energy and motivation so I can get some stuff done today and, as always, am hoping that starting my day off with some new music helps put me on the right path so let’s jump right into it.

“Expectations” is the first song from Chicago-based Life In Real Time and to say that it instantly got me hooked would be an understatement. This is a classic pop-punk song with a classic pop-punk story and a classic pop-punk vibe but it’s fresh and, on a day where it feels like nothing will be able to wake me up and get me going, this song had me swooning. I love how it’s not super in your face or aggressive but the inflection of certain words throughout this three minute-long song give this song the perfect amount of grit to help you shake off the early morning snoozies. Really, there’s nothing much more to say about this song. It’s just one of those feel good tracks that I think we all need on a slow moving morning and one of those songs that will tell you everything you need to know about this up and coming band.
