I don’t have a normal name so I have come to terms with the fact that I’ll never stumble upon a song with my name in it. I’m not bummed about it. Growing up, I hated having such an interesting name, but now that I’m older, I appreciate it so much and love the fact that people don’t instantly start singing or thinking of a song when they say my name. This really has nothing to do with Meathead’s new song “Shut Up, Brian” other than the obvious, tortured reference to the song title, but don’t let that stop you from checking out this truly fantastic track.
“Shut Up, Brian” is the first single from Meathead’s new EP, and it definitely will get you hooked enough to start counting down the days to the EP release. This song is fairly simple, but that won’t stop you from falling deep into Meathead’s world. It’s pop-punk perfection, complete with infectious hooks and perfectly curated gang vocals sprinkled throughout the song. Like any good pop-punk anthem, there’s no shortage of emotion in the lyrics, but I love the fact that, even with that emotion, this song is nothing short of a party anthem. Like I said, pop-punk perfection and just a flawless song on top of that. I wish I had more to say about this track but, honestly, I think it’s best that you just check it out for yourself.
