I’ve been lost in a world of pop-punk and indie-pop this morning. I don’t know why, but it’s just been what has been speaking to my soul. That being said, I’m starting to wilt like a dying flower. Okay, maybe it’s not that dramatic, but my late night last night is starting to catch up with me, and my eyes are getting heavy, but with so much work left to do today, I can’t give in. I need a burst of energy to keep me going, and LEACH’s song “SERPENT OF TIME” is the perfect kind of kick in the butt.

A track from LEACH’s EP ‘Psychosomatic,’ “SERPENT OF TIME” is a relentless track. It’s four minutes and fifteen seconds of pure adrenaline and pure intensity, all curated into a piece of art where every note comes through crystal clear even with the insane heaviness of the track. There’s something super frantic about this song, and the speedy tempo adds to that, but at the same time, there’s a clear message behind the madness, which is the golden ticket of this song. It’s a song about mental illness and how it can often feel like you are trapped by said illness until you eventually lose your grip or give in to the serpent-like suffocation of it all. I know that sounds dark, and it is, but I love how this song comes around and shows you what happens when you win that battle with pure dedication and uncompromising survival skills.
