There’s nothing to write about the crowd from last night. People were boring. What wasn’t boring was the sheer talent that was on stage.

Three cellos popped up on stage and I gave my roommate (who dragged me to the show) the eye. What the heck did she get me into?! And then it started, It was jaw-dropping.

I grew up playing classical piano. I hate classical music. I hate it with all of my being. But I love playing it and realize the dedication and sweat that it takes to master playing classical music on any instrument. I bow down to the guys of Apocalyptica.

What these three men can do with cellos is absolutely amazing. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before (and I’ve seen quite a lot). They were lifting those things in the air, headbanging while playing, just amazing. Absolutely amazing.

I never would have gone to this show had it not been for my roommate. Never turn down a show just because you don’t think it will be a good one. Life is too short to judge a band based on a CD or what you’ve heard about them. Get off your butt and go see them live. Go out and support the scene. You may be surprised by what you find like I was last night.  I am the first one to subject my friends to some “questionable” shows, it’s not usually the other way around. Although Apocalyptica is not quite my cup of tea… their live show will leave you speechless. The way a concert should leave you feeling.

If you are at a show and you don’t feel anything, the band is doing it wrong, or you are doing it wrong.
