Seattle, WA / Denver, CO based duo SideTalker is releasing their debut album ‘Alchemy’ in the near future and were kind enough to ask me to debut their single “The Healing Kind” from said album. I jumped on this opportunity as everything about this band seems to be perfectly up my alley and, well, just perfect.

I could spend a lot of time talking about how cool it is that this band came together after a meeting of the minds at The Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA. I could also go into depth about the history of Matt Chamberlain and Aaron Sterling (the two drummers that perform on the record) and all of the amazing projects that they have been part of. That being said, I feel like their single “The Healing Kind” does all of that for me and then some so I’ll let the music give you the background on this band.

Somehow SideTalker has take a booming and intensely heavy (yet super intentional) beat and turned it into something beautiful atmospheric with a little bit of ambience but also a sense of infectious energy at the same time. Listening to “The Healing Kind” somehow both gave me a sense of calm that I so badly needed today while also giving me a little burst of energy to make it through my early-afternoon slump I was fighting off. Whether you catch on the to the peacefulness or the energy (or even both like I did), this song will catch your ears and your heart instantly.

‘Alchemy’ is due out on October 31st. I will absolutely be patiently waiting for that drop. In the meantime, I will just continue to listen to “The Healing Kind” on repeat.
